Personal chef shares all the things Tom Brady and Gisele REFUSE to eat (2024)

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen may have two of the most enviable bodies in the world, but achieving their svelte physiques requires abstaining from pretty much anything the average person would call 'tasty'.

The superstar couple's personal chef, Allen Campbell, shared just what it was like to cook for the supermodel, the quarterback, and their two kids with Boston.com, even offering up their long list of meal-time no-nos.

However, despite their very limited diet, which is made up of 80 per cent vegetables, Allen insists the couple is 'really laid back'.

Can and can't eat: Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's personal chef has revealed their incredibly restrictive diet in a new interview

Mmm... veggie soup: Their diet is made up of 80 per cent vegetables and 20 per cent lean means - with a few whole grains like quinoa thrown in

Limited: Allen Campbell (pictured) said the family is actually quite 'laid back' and loves to eat a plant-based diet

Allen worked in several restaurants in Boston and Miami before taking his first private chef job for the Brady family.

At the time, the couple was looking for a new chef to replace their previous one, who had stuck to a plant-based diet. Allen fit the bill, and now cooks for them at their home in Boston and even travels with them when needed.

But having a professional chef at their disposal doesn't mean Tom, Gisele, and the kids - Benjamin, six, and Vivian, three - are eating gourmet pasta and crème brûlée every night. In fact, they never eat those things.

Their diet is incredibly restrictive, limited mostly to vegetables and occasional lean meats.

'I make conscious decisions to buy local and organic, and to stay away from GMOs, and to think about the future of the planet and the future of humans,' Allen said.

'My philosophy is that a plant-based diet has the power to reverse and prevent disease.'

What, no nuggets? Even the couple's children — Vivian, three, and Benjamin, six — eat what their parents eat. No doubt the diet plays a large part in helping the couple to maintain their trim physiques

Rabbit food: Tom's diet is even more limited than Gisele's — he usually won't eat fruit and also stays away from vegetables that can be inflammatory, like tomatoes and eggplant

Yum: The couple won't eat sugar, flour, MSG, or iodized salt and stick to whole grains and organic produce

That means that 80 per cent of what they consume is vegetables, all of which Allen buys fresh - and organic, of course.

He also serves whole grains - like quinoa, millet, and beans - as well as lean means including grass-fed organic steak, duck, chicken, and fish - especially wild salmon.

'If you just eat sugar and carbs - which a lot of people do - your body is so acidic, and that causes disease,' he explained.

That mentality means that there is an astonishingly long list of things Tom and Gisele won't put on their table, including anything made with white sugar, white flour, gluten or MSG.

Allen also only cooks with coconut oil instead of vegetable or olive oil, and usesHimalayan pink salt instead of iodized salt.

Surprisingly, Tom's diet is even more limited than Gisele's.

Allen added that the New England Patriots star doesn't eat nightshades because they aren't anti-inflammatory, which rules out tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and eggplants from his plant-based diet.

What supermodels eat? When they hired Allen, they were looking for a chef that would feed them a plant-based diet

He also won't consume coffee or other caffeinated beverages, fungi, dairy, or most fruits, though he'll occasionally have a smoothie with bananas.

Allen also pointed to a recent interview Tom did with the radio station WEEI, in which he decried the damaged caused by processed foods

'I think we’ve been lied to by a lot of food companies over the years, by a lot of beverage companies over the years... That’s just America, and that’s what we’ve been conditioned to,' Tom said.

'We believe that Frosted Flakes is a food… You just keep eating those things, and you keep wondering why we have just incredible rates of disease in our country. No one thinks it has anything to do with what we put in our body.'

'I love that he did that,' Allen commented, adding: 'Sugar is the death of people.'

Chill: Allen said he doesn't run the menus by his bosses because they're happy to eat what he makes

Kid-friendly? Gisele shared this picture of Vivian on Instagram that said she loved green juice - though it's difficult to tell if she was joking or not

Even the kids stick to their parents' meal plan, staying away from Kraft macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, and French fries.

Allen said that 90 per cent of the time, they eat exactly what their parents do. One of the only exceptions is Benjamin's school lunch, which Gisele prefers to pack herself.

The kids especially like to eat veggie sushi with brown rice, avocado, carrot, and cucumber. Allen makes their snacks, too, including raw granola, raw chocolate chip cookies, and healthy homemade fruit roll-ups that he creates using one of three dehydrators in their kitchen.

'I think that’s what makes [the job] so gratifying for me. If I was cooking for anyone else who didn’t respect and appreciate my food as much as they did, it wouldn’t be as gratifying for me,' Allen added.

'I think that’s what makes me happy at the end of the day. I get to really do what I want, and they get to benefit.'
