I am looking for a recipe called Heinz 57 Chicken. It was printed on the bottle back in the late '70's early '80s. I have been to Heinz website and still no luck.

None of theses are what you're looking for. The recipe called for a stove-top arrangement with orange marmalade and onions... It was delicious! Sorry, but I can't find it anywhere either. Will post it when I do.
PS What I remember was to brown cut-up whole chicken, then add sliced large onion, garlic clove, 1/4 cup of orange marmalade, 1/4 cup of Heinz 57 Sauce and cover over medium heat for 20 minutes? Stirring twice? Been a long time, but great stuff.

This was my dad's signature dish when I was growing up and when I asked him for the recipe after getting married - he laughed and said he got it of the back of the 57 bottle one day.
He told me - buy the boneless/skinless thighs and place in small casserole dish, mix 2 parts heinz, 1 part honey, put on top and then into the oven at 400 for 30 minutes. Sometimes he made the stove top separate and then added it to the edges with 15 minutes remaining. Knowing my dad, he probably modified this quite a bit. But the 2 part/1 part always stuck with me.

The post that Kristine on 3/3/08, is exactly the recipe that was on the back of the Heinz 57 bottle. I have it written down in my recipe book.

None of these are correct I cook it all the time! Take boneless skinless chicken breast saute in frying pan with butter til slightly browned, Place in crock pot and pour 1 large bottle of heinz 57 sauce over it and let cook on low all day. When you get home from work its moist, tender and ready to eat, we use egg noodles or rice to serve with it.

I think I know what you are talking about. I have been looking for that same recipi for years. Is it the one with Heinz 57, canned diced tomatoes, onions, and cooked bacon mixed together and poured over the chicken which has been browned in the bacon fat, then simmered for an hour?

Ok, I am obviously older than most of you however, the original Heinz 57 chicken recipe was on the back of the bottle and was very simple in nature from around 1960. It included a whole chicken cut into pieces and browned in butter. Remove the pieces as they browned then add more butter. Then add Heinz 57 sauce diluted with water, I think equal amounts of water and 57 sauce. Add this to the pan to heat then return the chicken. Cover and simmer until tender. I made this multiple times as a 10 year old and at one point had the label saved. Make it every now and then but the cost of the 57 sauce is too high for regular dinners.

One half cup of Heinz, one fourth cup of honey. One half stick of butter and six chicken drumsticks or thighs. Brown chicken in the butter on low heat. Place lid over the top for about fifteen minutes. Remove lid and add Heinz and honey. Cook until liquid is absolved.

Question: A-1 and Honey Recipe?
Pamela
December 31, 2008
About 9 or 10 years ago there was a recipe on the A-1 bottle for A-1 and honey and it was so good on wings! I didn't write the quantities down as I thought it was so simple I would be able to remember but I can't. I can't seem to get the ratio of A-1 and honey right and emailed the company and got no response. Hope someone remembers this or knows what I am talking about. Thanks.

Here is another one to use as marinate. You could always leave out the salad dressing and it give a amount of A-1 to an amount of honey. Looks so good I will have to try it. Thanks Lori
1 1/2 cups steak sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/3 cup Italian-style salad dressing
1/3 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Pamela,
I googled A-1 recipes and found a site from 2006 with a phone # for a free recipe book.
Free A1 Steak Sauce Recipe Book. Call
1-800-217-3247 and select option #2 to get this freebie.
I tried the number and it is still good. They said I would receive my free recipe book in 7-10 days.
It wouldn't surprise me if your A-1 and Honey recipe was in it.
Can't hurt to try.

I remember using the same sort or recipe. It was delicious. But I remember adding juice from a can of pineapples & then topping the chicken w/ the pineapple slices. It was like 1/2 cup of A1 Steak sauce; 1/4 cup of honey & 2-3 tablespoons of the pineapple syrup. When the chicken was about ready, place the pineapple slices on & cook for about 10 min. I even remember wrapping the chicken in foil & putting on the grill. Talk about tasty! Yummy

My mom got this recipe I think from an A1 bottle years ago.
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 cup Honey
2-3 tablespoons of A1
Put all ingredients in pot and bring to boil.
Be sure all butter is melted.
Arrange chicken in a 9x13 pan pour liquid over chicken bake at 350°for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
Sauce should be sweet yet tangy.
Question: Recipes Using Lea and Perrins Steak Sauce?
Lyndi Morier
January 29, 2008
Recently we were given several bottles of Lea and Perrins Steak Sauce They were missing their labels so the grocery store sold them as part of a 'grab' box. Since we don't eat enough steak to use up SIX bottles of steak sauce any time soon, I'm wondering if there are some recipes where I can use the steak sauce? Maybe with chicken or pork or a roast? Any ideas?

Try putting some in a zip-lock bag with a little vegetable oil (I use olive oil for everything) and use it a marinade for beef - especially fou leaner cuts like flank steak. I love it mixed with mayonaise as a dip for fries when I'm indulging on such stuff. Try thinking of it as a spicy ketchup and using it for sloppy joes and stuff like that.

Add some to the meat when making hamburgers or meatloaf. It'll give both a wonderful flavor.
