This post has been a long time coming! We spend several days down in St. Augustine, FL at the beginning of May. We go down every year for The Players golf tournament. This is one of my favorite trips that we take every year. I just LOVE it. This was the last year that the tournament will be held in May. It moves to March next year. We already have our room booked!
Chicken Legs loves the golf tournament, and I love all the amazing restaurants! We ate at a couple of old favorites and several new places! We ate SO much good food on this trip! After posting all these pictures of the food, I am ready to go back!! I think Chicken Legs and I need to plan a golf trip ASAP!
Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille
Harry’s is one of our favorites in St. Augustine.
We hadn’t eaten here in years, so we decided to give it a try for dinner our first night in town.
We started with the Boudin balls – cajun sausage & rice.
They were really good.
We also got the crab cake.
It was just OK. I’d skip it next time.
Chicken Legs got a steak.
It was DELICIOUS!!
He got grits as his side – YUM!
I got chicken – shocking! LOL!
It was served on top of a fried grit cake and topped with a creamy cajun sauce.
Really good!
I got red beans and rice as my side.
It did not disappoint.
We were completely stuffed, but we toughed it out and got FRIED OREOS for dessert.
Crazy good!!
Harry’s doesn’t take reservations. Try and sit outside. They have live music in the courtyard.
We sat on the balcony and had a great view of the water and all the people walking around downtown.

The Tini Martini Bar
The Tini Martini Bar is the BEST!! We go almost every night we are in town.
It is right down the street from Harry’s.
They have a huge martini list. We try different ones on each visit.
They give you a shaker full of the martini – it is enough to fill the glass twice! BOOM!

Gas Full Service Restaurant
We’ve eat at Gas Full Service once before. I think it was right after they opened.
We wanted to go back and check it out again.
I’m SO glad we did. It was delicious!
Chicken Legs got the grouper sandwich and fries.
I got this crazy burger!
Topped with pimento cheese, bacon and fried pickles!
The burger also came with slaw on top. I asked for it on the side.
Chicken Legs sampled it and said it was really good!
I got the homemade chips as my side. They were crispy and delicious.
Gas Full Service is so cute inside!
The food is fantastic! You can tell it is all homemade.
I highly recommend coming here if you are in town.
This is what the building looks like. It is right across the bridge.
They didn’t have a sign outside – so be on the lookout!

Prohibition Kitchen
My Mom & I ate at Prohibition Kitchen for lunch last year.
The guys didn’t go with us because they were at the golf tournament.
This place is too good for them to miss out on, so we took them for dinner this year.
We started with the Caprese Deviled Eggs.
Deviled eggs topped with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto. YUM!
We also got an order of Poutine.
It was comparable to the poutine that I ate in Canada.
My Mom got the same thing she got last year.
Ham & Bean Soup
and the Beet Salad. She enjoyed them both.
My Dad got the chicken sandwich. Still delicious!
Chicken Legs went with the Lobster Roll.
Fresh Maine lobster, Old Bay, Mayo, Celery, and Chervil on a Toasted White Roll
He ate it all! I almost didn’t get a photo!
I got a couple appetizers as my meal.
I sampled the Crispy Wings with Honey Chipotle Sauce.
They were good – not spicy.
I also got the Mac & Cheese with Skirt Steak.
Seriously delicious! I just wish there was more steak on top! YUM!
We couldn’t leave without trying one of their fancy milkshakes.
We got the brownie shake and it was delicious!
All four of us loved it!
Prohibition Kitchen is in the heart of the historic downtown.
They have live music! It has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious!

The Blue Hen Cafe
The Blue Hen Cafe is a new spot for us. It was highly rated on Yelp, so I put it on my list this year.
My Mom and I split a few menu items.
The Biscuits and Gravy were super delicious!
This Peanut Butter Banana stuffed french toast was our favorite!
OMG! I am definitely going to recreate this at home!
Finally, we got the chicken biscuits. LOVED them!
It came with a side of pecan butter. DELICIOUS!!
This is the cutest little restaurant! I would definitely come back.
Next time I’ll try their lunch.

Pizza Dina
Pizza Dina was one of our favorite finds on this trip.
It is located downtown in the historic area.
It had crazy good ratings on Yelp. I made note to try it if we wanted a quick lunch while shopping.
My Mom went plain jane with a slice of cheese.
I got crazy with a slice of pepperoni. OMG! This is some of the best pizza ever!
Look at all that cheese!!!!!
Pizza Dina has calzones, salads and paninis.
I can’t wait to bring Chicken Legs back here!
The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops
It has blazing hot outside, so we stopped for a popsicle at The Hyppo.
It is a super hip place and a great way to cool off on a super hot day.
All the popsicles are all-natural and they have a TON of flavors to choose from.
Grab one when you are downtown!

Peace Pie
I wanted to eat at Peace Pie last year, but I was too full.
I made sure to save room for an ice cream sandwich this year!
We tried the chocolate strawberry and brownie caramel.
They were good, but we both liked the popsicles better.
Maybe because it was SO hot outside and the popsicles were more refreshing.
Peace Pie has lots of fun ice cream sandwich flavors.
Great for an after dinner treat!

Cap’s on the Water
Cap’s on the Water was recommended to us by the bartender at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra, FL. She said it was one of her favorite places for dinner, so I added it to my list for this year.
I can’t believe we’ve never come out here before!
The VIEW!!!!
We started with a crab cake. It was really good.
Much better than Harry’s!
Can’t beat the Caesar Salad.
My parents split the Seafood Trio.
Fried shrimp, crab cakes, fried fish nuggets and hush puppies.
Chicken Legs got the grouper.
It got the steak. Look at that GARLIC BUTTER!!!!
We LOVED Cap’s on the Water. Chicken Legs and I will definitely be back on our next trip.
Great food and that VIEW!

Maple Street Biscuit Company
Maple Street Biscuit Company is my favorite breakfast place in St. Augustine.
Chicken Legs and I ate here years ago right when they opened.
I was excited to finally come back.
I got The Five.
Flaky biscuit, all natural fried chicken breast, pecan wood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese topped with sausage gravy with a little kick.
It was to-die-for!!!
Maple Street is a MUST!

O’Steen’s Restaurant
O’Steen’s Restaurant is a St. Augustine institution.
Chicken Legs had never been, so we had to go!
It is a total dive, but it is fan-freaking-tastic!
You park and walk up to the window outside and put your name on the list.
They don’t serve alcohol, but they recommend walking down the street to a bar for a drink. LOL!
They call your name over a loud speaker when your table is ready.
Everyone (but me) gets Fried Shrimp.
Chicken Legs got hushpuppies and green beans.
I am not a seafood person, so I got CHICKEN!
It was really, really good.
I LOVED the rice and gravy. I ate it about 5 seconds.
I should have gotten double rice and gravy and skipped the fries.
I also got an order of hushpuppies. I LOVE a good hushpuppy and these were delicious!
